Remove wax from decorative candle jars

Did you ever want to reuse that candle jar you received as a gift, or the one that came with a reusable lid?

Here’s how you can remove the wax to reuse it as storage or even place a smaller candle in it to see it glow once more.

Step 1 – once the candle is spent and will no longer serve its purpose, carefully pour boiling water into it. The water will melt the wax and it will float up to the top.

Step 2 – allow it all to cool down so then as it cools it will harden and be easy to remove. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary until all wax is removed.

Step 3 – simply pry off the metal wick holders (if they didn’t already come off) with a butter knife. Hand wash or place in dishwasher to remove any final residue a bring it to a sparkle.

Step 4 – to remove any labels or stickers simply cover with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol or dish soap and water till it begins to peel away.
